Memopal is a file sharing and synchronization tool. After having tried most of these applications, I can say that Memopal is a close second to Dropbox.
Memopal installs an application on your desktop that allows you to share certain folders on your computer. All the files contained within those folders are automatically uploaded to Memopal's servers. Using the web interface, you can access any of those files, any time, from anywhere. I like the fact that Memopal keeps copies of the previous versions of your files. So you can access both the latest copy of a file, and any copy before that.
Memopal also implemented a great search engine, which can find any of your files. You can even use boolean operators for your searches. Of course, there is also a browse mode. It can help you see all the contents of a folder, with snapshots for your files.
You can install the application on as many computers as you want, but you can only upload 3GB for a free account, with more space given to you if you invite friends to Memopal.
There is also an iPhone app for accessing your Memopal account's contents, but it has not yet seen its full potential.
The sharing feature works like a charm on the Windows and Mac OS X versions, and it allows for easy sharing of files that are already on your Memopal account. In short, if Dropbox isn't for you, Memopal might just work. The two are very similar and Memopal works great as well.
